What the Spice Girls and The Goddess have to say about speaking up.

Which Goddess am I working with tomorrow for the Solstice and how we can build an altar to what we want to see in the world.

This week, the Goddess came to me through a Spice Girl song.

I have been singing and humming “Say You’ll Be There” by the Spice Girls all week, and yesterday I actually sang it in session with my client. Sometimes it’s chants (which I did record 108 rounds of a mantra for my client to use), and sometimes it’s 90’s pop; the Goddess demands both.

The lyrics go:
”I’m giving you everything
All that joy can bring
This I swear (I’ll give you everything)
And all that I want from you
Is a promise you will be there
Say you will be there”

The Goddess will give us the power; all that we need to do is say that we will be there.

I did a reel this week saying that we should all just “say the thing”. And you know the thing I mean. More and more of my friends and clients are telling me that people are saying the most unhinged things to them: racist, homophobic, sexist jokes or even just ignorant comments and hurtful stereotypes. The rise in popularity of people like Pauline Hanson and Donald Trump has bolstered the stupid and the mediocre.

But they can keep their far-right phonies; we have the Goddess.

The number 1 reason my clients do not speak up is that they don’t want to look stupid. They want to keep everyone comfortable and stay liked.

But by whom? Misogynists? Bigots? People who cannot string a coherent sentence together? Babe, please.

You cannot dismantle a system when you are still trying to be liked and approved of by that system.

Speak up, and the Goddess will be there. Leap, take the first step, and the Goddess will be there (perhaps in the form of a Spice Girl singing ex-chiropractor). But YOU must be the one to move, speak, be brave, be willing to be wrong or silly and f**k what anyone thinks.

Sacrifice your people-pleasing manipulation at the altar of the Goddess.
Become Unhinged, Ungovernable, Unapologetic

A free 45-minute session on the Solstice.

12 noon Lisbon (WEST), 9 pm Melbourne (AEST), 6 am (CDT) Houston
We will build an altar, an energetic architecture of who you want to be, what you want to stand for.

You will need to have with you:

  • A surface to work on — a tray, a shelf, a cloth on the floor.|

  • Something that represents your deity or chosen sacred figure — an image, a statue, a drawing, something they made. If you don’t have a deity that calls to you, find something that represents what you are wanting to move toward, maybe even a character from a book or movie.

  • Something from nature that corresponds to the solstice:

Winter — something that holds light (a candle, a crystal, a mirror, a gold object) or something that represents what you are waiting to birth or something old or dark — a stone, dark earth, dried leaves. Winter is the longest dark before the return of light.

Summer — something at peak bloom or ripeness. Something that represents what is fully alive in you right now. Something that will fade — a fresh flower, a piece of fruit. Summer solstice is the peak before the turning.

  • Something that represents your lineage — a photograph of an ancestor, an heirloom object, a piece of fabric, anything that connects you backward.

  • Something that represents what they want to call in — one specific thing.

  • Water. Always water on an altar — prāṇa moves through water, the nāḍīs are described as rivers.

    No more f**ks to give

This is the beginning of a larger body of work.
For those who are already ready and want their own pop song sung to them, the Build Your Temple container is open.

Oh, and the Goddess I will be working with tomorrow is Saraswati. She and I have had a complicated relationship, but she sent me a Spice Girl song and saved the middle section of my book, so I think it is time I showed up for her. A commitment to saying the thing, to showing up and knowing that she will be there, like the bridge that suddenly appears over the abyss after you have already taken the first step (and thank Goddess you didn’t fall).

And if you have read this far, a little jewel at the end: my visa renewal got approved! After untold amounts of stress and worry, I can stay in our chosen home of Portugal for another 3 years; let’s hope my youngest daughter gets renewed, because do you remember when we were stuck in limbo when we moved? No home, no jobs, no plan, no passports, no tickets, because her visa took an extra month to be approved? And we all joked that she was most likely the head of a criminal organisation I knew nothing about? Well, she’s even more self-assured and capable now so… My oldest, however, is the opposite, composed and calm and finished second top in her Year 8 class after only 18 months of speaking Portuguese.

My book will be finished soon, and it is one of the best things I have ever done; I am so proud of it.

So yeah, we’re doing ok.
