I have just finished writing part one of my fourth book, I Don’t See Colour, How Empire Flattened the Sacred.
I’m really proud of it. It is… it’s very cool. It’s very, very cool.
I’m thinking I may release the sections as I finish them, because honestly, it’s taken me so long to finish part one, and I think that was going to be the hardest one. Now that I’ve got my momentum, I’ll be able to finish it quicker.
So here’s my proposal. If you are a paid subscriber, I will send you part one now and then part two and part three as I finish them. I’ve also planned some articles on energetic architecture that will only be available to paid subscribers. AND I’m thinking…special events, round table discussions…the sky’s the limit really.
You’ll also become part of my editing process — you get to comment on my newest book, email me back, and we get to have a dialogue, a conversation. And when I finish “I don’t see colour”, you will get a signed copy sent to you, and an invitation to an exclusive special event.
Email me back. Tell me if you’d be into that. I am genuinely open to feedback on this — maybe you’d prefer I keep it under wraps until the whole book’s done? Let me know.
Part One is titled White. Part Two is titled Grey.
Part two is about what we have lost.
As practitioners of the global majority, how we have lost our medicine, lost our lineage, and sort of defaulted to the Western way.
My mother always spoke about my grandmother as an Ayurvedic healer. But as it turns out, Ayurveda is from the North of India. I’m Tamil. I was born in Sri Lanka. My specific medicine is Tamil Siddar medicine — not Ayurveda.
But here’s the thing. We, as people of the global majority, have lost a lot of our language, and it has been flattened into Western terminology. Hence, why my mother used the term Ayurveda. It’s much more acceptable. It’s much easier to find. It’s accessible. And this is exactly what colonisation did to South Asia — it flattened many varied traditions into one.
I’ve been reading a lot of Arundhati Roy, who I absolutely love — she is exactly who I want to be when I grow up. In her essay Azadi, she talks about how under British rule, hundreds, if not thousands, of Indian languages were flattened, with Hindi pushed as the official tongue. Tamil Nadu resisted — they don’t speak Hindi at all. But because of this, Sanskrit was heralded as the norm, the better thing, and Tamil was made secondary. Hence why Ayurveda took over Tamil Siddar medicine. Hence, why I didn’t know my own lineage until I opened myself up to it.
When I speak of lineage, I don’t just mean what’s behind us. I mean, what’s going forward?
I feel it like a thick cord of light that goes straight through me. It joins my mother, my grandmother, her father — and it joins my children too. I’m not at the end of something. I am a part of something that’s going forward.
And it’s become really important to me to honour that, and to create something that is part of this lineage.
I specifically work with practitioners of the global majority. When I started, I thought I had to Google their traditions, find teachers of their lineages, and become an expert. But that’s not it at all.
My specific medicine is connecting these women to their own lineages. To find the wisdom that is already in those bones. The energetic architecture is there — they (Empire) tried to erase it, they tried to get rid of it, but it is still there, and it is accessible to you.
I don’t need to know anything about Spanish lineage, Native American lineage, Buddhism or Shintoism. My job is to connect you with it. Because you will know.
You will know in your bones who you are and what your lineage is.
Why a chiropractor? Why bones?
In Women Who Run with the Wolves, Clarissa Pinkola Estes talks about bones archetypally — bones are lineage, bones hold memory, they are really, really freaking hard to destroy. They are enduring. People call chiropractors "bone doctors," and I think there is no mistake I became one. Because the bones hold memory, they hold our internal structure. They are the scaffolding that will build the temple.
So. I want to do a workshop.
A 2-hour workshop on the 19th of May. I want to get a bunch of us together and create an energetic space where you can start to connect with your lineage. Where you can start to furnish out your inner architecture, and begin building your inner temple to your work, to your medicine.
Details are below. I hope you can join me.
Build Your Temple
A 2-hour workshop for practitioners of the global majority
Tuesday 19th May | Online | 2 Hours - €35
They tried to erase it. But you have it in your bones.
You know something is missing. You’ve built a practice, you’ve studied the modalities, you’ve done the work — and still, there’s a knowing that what you’re carrying runs deeper than any certification, deeper than any curriculum.
It does.
Your lineage - your specific medicine - was not lost. It was flattened. Colonisation didn’t just rename traditions, it buried them under acceptability. Ayurveda instead of Tamil Siddar. Sanskrit over the mother tongue. The Western framework over the living wisdom of your bloodline.
But the bones are enduring. And they remember everything.
This workshop is for you if:
You are a practitioner of the global majority who knows your medicine is rooted in something older than what you were taught
You’ve felt disconnected from your lineage — or you’ve never had the language to find it
You’re ready to stop looking in Google and ChatGPT for what already lives inside you
You want to build something in your work that carries your lineage forward — not just backward
What we’ll do together
Over two hours, we will create an energetic space where you can begin to connect with your lineage: to find that thick cord of light that runs straight through you and open a portal to your ancestors, past and future.
We will start building the inner architecture, the inner temple, through which your lived lineage can live through your work.
Not a history lesson. Not research. But a homecoming.
You don’t need a teacher of your specific tradition to be in the room. You don’t need to have all the answers about where your medicine comes from. You need only to show up, because you will know in your bones who you are and what your lineage is.
My job is to help you find it.
Who is this for?
This workshop is specifically geared toward practitioners of the global majority. That is where my specific gift lies, in helping you connect to that inner light, that inner lineage that you are a part of, so that we can carry it forward together.
If you’re not a practitioner but still identify as part of the global majority (black, brown, indigenous, or immigrant) and you believe you’ll receive medicine from this space, you are still welcome.
Facilitated by Dr Leandra Brady-Walker
Chiropractor, Author, and Medical Intuitive. My fourth book, I Don’t See Colour: How Empire Flattened the Sacred, is rooted in exactly this work. Part memoir, part practitioner manual, part theology, it is the book I had to write to understand my own Tamil Siddar lineage, and why I became a bone doctor in the first place.
Bones hold memory. They hold our internal structure. They are the scaffolding of the temple.
This workshop is the medicine I most want to do.
